

2024 NCAA Division III Men’s Cross Country All-Academic Athletes
NEW ORLEANS – The Men’s Scholar Athlete of the Year and All-Academic Athletes for the 2024 NCAA Division III Cross Country season were announced on Thursday by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA).
Grant Matthai of UW-La Crosse was named the 2024 NCAA Division III Men’s Cross Country Scholar Athlete of the Year. Matthai, who hails from Wauwatosa, Wisconsin, finished third at the 2024 NCAA DIII Cross Country Championships in Terre Haute, Indiana. This is the first time in program history that an athlete from UW-La Crosse has been named NCAA Division III Men’s Cross Country Scholar Athlete of the Year. It also marks the first time since 2017 that the honor went to an athlete from the WIAC.
In order to qualify for All-Academic distinction, student athletes must have a cumulative GPA of at least 3.30 on a 4.0 scale and finish in the top-25 percent of their respective regional championship meet.
